Alisha is a yoga and meditation teacher living and working in Goa, India. She also teaches students from across the globe through her online sessions.
Alisha was drawn to yoga out of pure fascination for the intangible and the mystical. Naturally introspective and deeply invested in self-exploration, an inner knowing that there is more to our existence than what we experience with our senses is what got her into the science, philosophy and practice of yoga.
As a teacher, Alisha’s approach is grounded and intuitive with an emphasis on the therapeutic aspect of the practice. Having taught at SWAN Yoga Retreat in Goa and at the award-winning spa, Ananda In the Himalayas, near Rishikesh, she truly understands the value and the need for a holistic approach to wellness. Formally trained in Classical Hatha Yoga at the Sivananda Yoga & Vedanta Ashram in Kerala and mentored in the Bihar School of Yoga tradition, Alisha believes a regular, consistent practice helps one reach higher levels of awareness where deeper truths are revealed within one’s self. Moreover, her understanding of the subject has evolved as a result of practice over years and a yearning for the knowledge of the Self through meditation techniques like Vipassana and non-dual witnessing as taught by Mooji and Sri Ramana Maharshi. For Alisha, the purpose of practice is to heal and integrate the fragmented aspects of the body-mind phenomenon to emerge whole, complete and free.
